My Amazing Doctor ... And An Announcement!
Meet my doctor, Taz Bhatia M.D. Isn’t she gorgeous? I hope she doesn’t mind that I snagged this photo off her website!
I can’t say enough about this woman. She isn’t just a doctor in the conventional sense of the word, but in the modern-traditional sense as well. She is a teacher and a healer.
The first time I saw her I was in a desperate state. My hand had been swallowed up by a crazy, acute case of eczema. I had already seen an emergency room doctor (who had gasped involuntarily) and a dermatologist who had just shaken her head.
I was Dr. Taz’s last patient of the day. She sat with me in a softly lit room and got my entire history, learned about my diet and had some tests run. She told me I needed to do one more round of antibiotic cream but she also prescribed for me a cream she had formulated herself – a potent lotion of b-vitamins and primrose oil. I left with a diet plan and a couple of supplements.
That was the last time I had to use any sort of pharmaceutical drug for my hand. Within a few months, my hand was totally clear and I haven’t had a trace of eczema in over a year.
The good news about Dr. Taz has spread through Atlanta. I have many friends with stories similar to mine. She is also getting a lot of national & even international attention. She’s often on The Dr. Oz Show (here’s her latest – boost energy in 7 days) and has written a best-selling book, What Doctors Eat. Go Dr. Taz!
And now I am joining her team! (You thought I was pregnant didn’t you! Sorry…)
I’m doing some research for her in the field of integrative medicine and will be helping with various projects she has going on. (I was a project manager in my pre-kids life and I’m excited to wear that hat again!)
This is such an honor! I am so thankful.
The funny thing is my kids haven’t even noticed. It’s part time work that I’m doing while Lucas is at school and my mom watches Sofia.
So…if things are a little quiet on the blog lately, now you know why. (Although I have a SUPER easy Thai Red Coconut Curry coming your way very soon!)
In other news, I’ve started ballet class. No those aren’t my shoes, they belong to Sofia, my 95th percentile 3-yr. old. It’s a mommy & me class and I am relishing every minute of it!
This is my last hoorah with my baby before she goes off to join her big brother at Montessori school in the fall. She’ll only be in school 3 hours a day but she naps so there won’t be as much “mommy & me time” then.
I’ll leave you with a recent pic of both Sofia and Lucas. He is actually much more interested in flowers than she is, but she pretends to love them too!
